I Built an AI That Writes Viral Hooks for Me. Here’s the System.
Jul 24, 2025
Tell me if this sounds familiar.
You spend hours, maybe even days, crafting a brilliant article. It’s packed with insights, data, and a unique perspective that you know your audience needs. You hit “publish,” feeling proud of the work.
And then… nothing. A handful of views, a couple of likes. The brilliant work you poured your soul into gets lost in the noise.
I’ve been there. For years, I would create what I thought was my best content for YouTube or LinkedIn, only to see it get minimal engagement. It’s one of the most frustrating feelings for any creator or business leader. The problem isn’t the quality of your content.
The problem is that your hook failed.
The first line is everything. It’s the gatekeeper to all the value you’ve created. And for a long time, I believed that writing a great hook was a creative lottery — some days you have it, some days you don’t.
But what if that’s the wrong way to think about it?
The shift for me came when I stopped trying to be a creative genius and started thinking like an engineer. The focus isn’t on waiting for inspiration, but rather on building a machine that reliably generates high-probability hooks for you.
Today, I’m giving you the blueprint for that machine. I call it The A.H.G. (Automated Hook Generator) System.
It’s a simple but powerful workflow that takes any article or topic and automatically generates 25–35 potential hooks in under 60 seconds, all based on proven formulas.
Here’s how it works.
Level 1: The Core Hook Engine
The first part of the system is a straightforward automation. In a tool like N8n, you can build a simple workflow:
- Chat Input: You start by pasting your finished article into a chat node.
- AI Model: This text is then fed into an AI model. I use Gemini 2.5 Flash because it’s fast, cheap and effective, but you can use any model you prefer (this models works best for me).
- The Prompt: This is the most important part. You don’t just ask for “hooks.” You instruct the AI to generate hooks using specific, proven formats that grab the attention of your target audience.
These are the formulas I’ve built into my prompt:
- The Contrarian Reframe: Challenges a common belief. (e.g., “Everyone thinks you need more data. You actually need less.”)
- The “How I…” Personal Result: Shares a specific, quantifiable achievement. (e.g., “How I cut our content production time by 90% with one AI agent.”)
- The “My System” Claim: Names your proprietary solution. (e.g., “My 3-step system for automating client onboarding.”)
- The Direct Promise: States a clear, desirable outcome for the reader. (e.g., “This article will show you exactly how to build your first AI employee.”)
- The Vulnerability-to-Victory Arc: A powerful formula I learned from Justin Welsh. It starts with a specific struggle and shows the transformation. (e.g., “Two years ago, my business was stuck. Here’s the painful lesson that changed everything.”)

This simple workflow is a Level 1 automation. It takes a manual, frustrating task and makes it instant. But we can take it further.
Level 2: Adding a Human-in-the-Loop
Now I know it seems counter intuitive to have the human-in-the-loop at this stage because of the fact that we are trying to reduce human work. However until AI becomes 1 or 2 generations more advanced, we still need to apply our minds and review the work from AI, just like we would with any human employee.
So, to make this system truly practical, you need an easy way to review and select the best hook. That’s where a Level 2 system comes in.
I’ve created a second workflow that integrates with Telegram or WhatsApp. So while you are away from your laptop (maybe taking a vacation because you’ve automated your entire business, lol), you can get work done by your AI agent.
- Once the AI generates the list of 25–35 hooks, the workflow doesn’t just stop. It sends the entire list directly to you in a Telegram message.
- The automation then waits. You can scroll through the options on your phone and pick the one that resonates most.
- You simply reply with the number of your chosen hook (e.g., “3”).
- The workflow receives your response, isolates that single hook, and sends it back to you for confirmation.
Now, you have your final, approved hook, ready to go.
The Vision: Towards Level 3 Automation
Think about what this enables. This is classic systems thinking.
The output of this hook generator — your single, chosen line — can become the input for another automation. It can be automatically combined with your article body and uploaded directly to Medium, LinkedIn, or your company blog.
This is how you move from Level 1 (automating a single task) to Level 2 (automating a process) and start building Level 3 departmental systems. You’re not just writing content anymore; you’re managing a content production line.
Setting up the Telegram or WhatsApp integration might take a little time, but it’s a one-time setup for a massive long-term gain. This simple system ensures that every piece of high-value content you create gets the attention it deserves.
