Should We Choose ChatGPT-3 Turbo or ChatGPT-4 Turbo?🧐

OpenAI says GPT-4 is ten times more powerful than GPT-3.5.

If GPT-4 is so powerful, why are we even considering using GPT-3 for our DIY Jarvis? Let me explain.

In the movie The Avengers, there's a scene where Iron Man yells out, 'Deploy!' to Jarvis. Within mere seconds, Jarvis is able to deploy a suit, saving Iron Man from a fatal fall off Stark Tower.

Jarvis is able to save Tony because the latency between understanding the command to deploy a suit and deploying a suit is so minimal.

How is this relevant to our debate over GPT-3 and GPT-4?

The LLM we choose to integrate can make all the difference. While GPT-4 is powerful, it's also heavy. GPT-3 is faster and cheaper than GPT-4. 

The version of Jarvis you build probably won't be in life-or-death situations, but reducing latency allows you to have smooth conversations with your AI assistant.

I really found this to be true while building Jarvis.

I was having a major issue with Jarvis taking about 8 to 10 seconds to respond to me. So, I set out to test and pick the best option.

GPT-4 is a whole second slower, and that second definitely makes a difference.
